NEWS - It's been a big week for Disneyland parkgoers. The Disney100 celebrations are going into full swing, and along with that comes some pretty outstanding "newness" being unleashed in the park.

One of the latest and greatest rides to finally open at Anaheim is the Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railroad. Parkgoers can hop aboard this ride (as of January 27th) for a memorable, blast from the past experience in ToonTown.

It's not an entirely new concept, as this ride is featured at the Orlando theme park as well. However, Disney fans in the Ahaheim vicinity flocked to this 2D-style attraction, forming lines just as the park opened for the unveiling.

According to Disney, you can expect this ride to be a "relaxing train ride that suddenly turns into a zany, free-ranging romp."

ToonTown Revamp at Disneyland

Recently, Disneyland has focused on ToonTown, giving it new rides, fresh paint, and plenty to do for the whole family.

Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railroad is comparable to Peter Pan's Flight, Snow White's Enchanted Wish, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: all fan favorites at Anaheim's Disneyland.

All Aboard New And Improved Runaway Railroad

This addition to Disneyland might be even better than the original! It's reportedly faster than Disney World's version, and the 2D cartoon styling is mind-boggling.

Historically, Mickey & Minnie Runaway Railroad has been a slow-going, often "boring" attraction for parkgoers at Orlando's Magic Kingdom, so there were a few raised eyebrows when Disneyland announced the same ride was in the works.

That said, this revamped version offers a bit of wild adventure once the car you're on becomes "detached" from the rest of the train. Don't worry, this is all planned, so just hold your Mickey Mouse ears!

In this ride, you're boarding a train with Goofy as the engineer... so what could possibly go wrong? It's all good and fun after a bit of setting the tone with a pleasant ride and cartoon-viewing, get ready for the zany ride to begin.

Your train car will explore the world through Mickey's and Minnie's perspectives, a wacky new view!

If you are ready to take the plunge, you might want to join a virtual queue before heading to ToonTown.

Many Disney insiders recommend getting in line for this ride via your Disneyland app, which should improve the chances of being able to experience the magic at the time of your trip.

New rides at Disney parks are notorious for long wait times.

Of course, if you read this after a few months of the ride being open, you may not be fighting hoards of people to hop aboard the train. This will all come down to the day, time, and current hype surrounding ToonTown and the new ride.
